The 2018-19 Hertfordshire County Triples Champions are Cherry Nolan, Clive Mark and Ted Nolan from the Cuffley Hall club. Runners Up were Audrey Fowler, Dennis Mack and Brian Fowler from Greenwood Park.
12 triples competed for the title at Elm Court. Initially divided into 4 groups of tree teams, the top two from each group progressed to the quarter final stage. The losing semi finalists contested a 3rd/4th place final the winners of which were Ann Laws, Jean Patten and Dianne Webb (Cuffley). The 4th placed team were Val Thorogood, Jill Quarterman and Barry Thorogood (Greenwood Park).
The competition also acts as a qualifying event for the ESMBA National Finals for those who choose to represent Hertfordshire at the finals. The top 4 finishing teams in the qualifying event were as follows;
- Audrey Fowler, Dennis Mack, Brian Fowler
- Val Thorogood, Jill Quarterman and Barry Thorogood
- Martin Nash, Alan Spicer, Brian McGivern (Cuffley Hall)
- Marion Cooper, Peter Griffiths, Sam Salmon (Letchworth)
Audrey, Brian and Dennis are guaranteed a place at the National Finals in April. Additional places are allocated to the counties by the ESMBA based on an algorithm which takes into account the proportion of each county's registered members entering the qualifying process. In the last 2 seasons, Hertfordshire have been allocated 3 and 4 places in the National Triples Finals. Allocations are confirmed in February.
Cherry, Clive and Ted now take their place on the Hertfordshire County Honours Board which can be found under the COUNTY menu heading.
