Barnet League Week 9

   Week 9

 

The Barnet League continues with only three games being played this week.

Division One

Greenwood Peckers team of Audrey, Darren and Mark played Shillington Blacks team of Jen, Toni and Bill. Peckers started well taking the first three ends for singles and following this with a double they were 5 – 0 up after four ends. Blacks then got on the scorecard by taking a double. Peckers came back with a double of their own, to which Blacks reply was to take a further single giving Peckers a 7 – 3 lead after seven ends. Peckers then took a run of three singles and a four and had a 14 – 3 lead after eleven ends. Blacks then came in for a single to which Peckers reply was to take a further double. Blacks held the last two ends for singles but Peckers had the win at 16- 6.

Letchworth Tigers team of David M, Margaret and David G played Northiam Easts team of Martin, Rosa and Jeff. Tigers started well taking the first end for a triple. East then replied taking a triple of their own and followed this with a four. Tigers took end four for a single. East held the following end for a double to which Tigers again replied by taking a single, reducing Easts lead to 9 – 5. East then took a run of six ends. Taking three singles, two doubles and a triple they had a 19 – 5 lead with three ends to play. Tigers came back on end thirteen to hold on for a double. The last two ends went for a single apiece giving East the win at 20 – 8.

Division Two

Shillington Reds team of Tom, Derek and Neil played Harpenden Eagles Brian, Geoff and Beryl. Reds took the first end for a single and followed this with a double. Eagles then took end three for a single, followed by a further single from Reds. End five saw Eagles take a double to reduce Reds lead to 4 – 3. Reds then started a run of seven ends. Taking two singles, two doubles and three triples, they pulled out a lead of 19 – 3 after twelve ends. Eagles then held end thirteen for a triple and followed this with a single. With Reds taking the last end for single, they had their sixth successive win in a row at 20 – 7.

 

The top of Division one remains unchanged from last week with both Peckers and East winning this week. Division two is also unchanged from last week. With Reds maintaining their impressive unbeaten run, they look quite secure at the top of the table.
