The last weekend of November saw 29 members of Hertfordshire go for a bowling tournament organised by Alexis Mack at Potters Resort Hopton-on-Sea. With twenty four participants in a triples spoon drive, twenty six in a pairs competition and twelve brave souls taking part in the evening four bowl singles competition. There was plenty of bowling to be had with still time to enjoy Potters generous all-inclusive meals and the evening entertainment which included their own version of a Christmas Pantomime. On Sunday evening there was a small awards ceremony when the winners were congratulated. The triples spoon drive was won by Dennis Mack (Alexis’s maths being checked by Margaret Regan) with Alan Hare coming second. The pairs competition was won by Alan Hare and Barbara Pacey after a close final with Margaret Eccleston and Malcolm Petrie. The singles competition was won by Alan Hare (do we know him?) who beat Jeff Branch into second place. A great well organised weekend.
