After 20 years of trying Jeanette Gayler has won the Hertfordshire County Singles title.  She beat her St Margaret's clubmate Darren Stanford in the final.

24 players took part in the competition.  They were initially divided into eight groups of three players.  In another example of the growing strength in depth of the county there were no easy groups and a few of the more experienced players made their exit at this early stage.  Equally, two players making their debuts in the competition reached the quarter finals.

Jeanette Gayler and Darren Stanford will represent Hertfordshire at the National Singles finals in April.  They will be accompanied by Brian McGivern who won the third/fourth place match against Tony Gayler.
