Northiam Short Mat Bowls Club was formed in 1990 and was a founder member of the Hertfordshire County Short Mat Association.
The club meets on Tuesday evenings with an additional session on Monday afternoons if there is a demand. There is no dress code on club sessions except that players must either wear flat un-ridged shoes or shoes made by a recognised bowls manufacturer. There are additional opportunities to play in galas and charity events at other venues through the year.
The club holds competitions with trophies for the finalists in the Singles and Pairs events as well as a club league and a target bowls event.
For players wanting to test themselves in external competitions, Northiam enters teams in the Barnet League and members are also encouraged to enter the County competitions – Singles, Pairs, Triples, Fours, Over 55 Pairs and Mixed Fours.
