The opening match in this season's Inter County Championship ended in a home win for Bucks.

The outstanding results for Hertfordshire came in the singles discipline with Michael West winning both games and Alan Hare, making his first singles outing for the county, winning one game and missing out by a single shot in the other.  The combined results for the two singles players were more than enough to take the extra 2 bonus points.  They contributed 8 of Hertfordshire's 13 points.

Pauline Taylor and Jeanette Gayler had a big win in their first session (22-6).  The triple of Jill Oakes, Peter Griffiths and Brian McGivern came back from a disappointing morning session to win their second game 11-8.  Cherry Nolan, Graham Yates, Margaret Regan and Ted Nolan scored 4 shots on the last end of their second game to tie 9-9 and secure a point from the fours discipline.
