There were two 1st and two 2nd Diviaion matches in the Barnet League last night.
Greenwood Peckers strengthened their hold at the top of the First Division with a big win over Cuffley Tonic. 11- 6 down after eight ends, the Peckers engaged first gear and ran away with game, winning by 21 shots to 11. This result give the Peckers a 4 point lead over Cuffley Gin at the top of the table! Another lack lustre performance by Letchworth Lions saw them well beaten by an on form Northiam East. Northiam scored 13 shots before the Lions got on the scoreboard! Although the Lions picked up a "5" on end 13, it was too little, too late and Northiam East ran out winners by 20 shots to 10. This win took Northiam to 4th while the Lion's remain firmly at the bottom of the table without a single point so far! The Lions will have to improve immensely if they are going to avoid relegation!
In the Second Division, St Margaret's Wizards had a comfortable win over second placed Letchworth Tigers. The Tigers were briefly in the lead 8 - 6 after six ends but The Wizards took 14 shots from the final 9 ends to win 20 -12. The Wizards move up to fourth in Division 2 while the Tigers retain their second place on shot difference. In the other 2nd Division game, Harpenden Nightjars beat Shillington White by 15 shots to 10. All square at five all at the half way stage, the Nightjars took control of the second half of the game to win by 5 shots. The Nightjars move up to 3rd while the Whites are 5th in the table.
