In the first week of 2020
there were two 1st and three 2nd division matches in the
Barnet League last night.
Division 1
Cuffley Tonic played Cuffley
Gin. Cuffley Tonic took four ends for a single and two ends for two. However Cuffley
Gin dominated the game taking three ends for four, one for three and five
singles. Cuffley Gin winning 20 shots to 8.
Letchworth Dragons played Letchworth
Lions in a close game. At end 9 the score was Dragons 5 Lions 4. The Dragons took
the next two ends for three and although the Lions got a couple of singles and a
two, the Dragons then took the last end for a single, winning 11 – 9.
Division 2
Division 2 saw all three Shillington
teams playing with mixed results, in fact one of each.
Shillington White played
Harpenden Owls. After four ends the scores were tied at 4 all. The Owls then failed
to take any more ends until the last end, taking it for two shots. Final score,
Whites 23 Owls 6.
Shillington
Black played Letchworth Tigers in an exciting game. At end three, Tigers were 4
– 0 up. Blacks then won the next two ends to go 7 – 4 up. Tigers fought back
taking 3 singles and by end twelve it was 10 all. Blacks then took a single to
which Tigers replied with a 4. Blacks then came straight back for a 3, ending
in a draw, 14 all.
Shillington Red played Greenwood
Hawks. At end five the Reds were winning 3 – 2. By end eight it was evens, 5
all. The Hawks then slowly but surely pulled ahead resulting in a final winning
score of 18 – 6.
