This week there was one 1st and two 2nd division matches in the Barnet League.
Division 1
St Margaret’s Rarebits played Letchworth Dragons. Dragons started with a two but Rarebits took the next two ends to go 5 – 2 up. Although Dragons took a further single, the Rarebits immediately replied with a single and a three. Dragons then took a three of their own on the seventh end to reduce the deficit to three shots. After that, Dragons only managed to win two of the remaining eight ends. Rarebits winning 19 – 9.
Division 2
Harpenden Owls played Letchworth Tigers. Tigers started with a single, Owls replying with a two. However, Tigers immediately took a four. Owls then took the next three ends and by end seven the scores were level, at six all. Owls took the eighth end for a single to take a brief lead but Tigers came back strongly winning all of the remaining seven ends. Tigers finally taking a strong win of 22 – 7.
Shillington Black played St Margaret’s Wizards. Wizards started with a three but blacks instantly replied with a four and after three ends it was level at four all. Blacks then took three ends for two each to take a 10 – 4 lead. The following nine ends were evenly matched. Wizards taking three singles and a three with Blacks taking five singles. However, the Wizards were not able to recover from the Blacks early lead who won 15 – 10.
Blacks now have a three point lead at the top of the table.
