This week there was one 1st and three 2nd division matches in the Barnet League.
Division 1
St Margaret’s Rarebits played Northiam East. East started well taking the first four ends. Rarebits then took the next three ends. At end seven East were in the lead 8 – 4. East then took the next four ends to go 14 – 4 up. Although Rarebits took three further singles; East took one more single and won comfortably 15 – 7.
Division 2
Shillington Red played Letchworth Tigers. Reds took the first three ends for a single each. Tigers then took the following five ends including one end for a four. At end eight Tigers were up 9 – 3. The next six ends went alternately for a single each. So, on the penultimate end Tigers still had a six shot lead. Reds managed to take the last end for a two. Tigers winning 12 – 8.
Shillington Black played Harpenden Nightjars. Nightjars took the first four ends for singles. Blacks then took a single and a two. Nightjars then took the next five ends, mostly singles and one two. So, by end eleven Nightjars were in the lead 10 – 3. Blacks then started a comeback taking the last four ends but didn’t quite manage to catch up with the Nightjars. Nightjars winning 10 – 9.
St Margaret’s Wizards played Greenwood Hawks. Wizards took the first end, with Hawks instantly replying to go 2 – 1 up. Wizards then took a two followed by a five to go six shots in front. The Wizards then took four of the next six ends and by end eleven they had a good lead of 16 – 6. Hawks took the last four ends for a single each but did not recover the damage done earlier. Wizards won 16 – 10.
