The third national qualifier competition was held on Saturday at Elm Court. This was the mixed fours competition. Six teams took part with entrants from Bush Hill Park, Shillington, Letchworth, Greenwood, Northiam, St Margaret’s, Cuffley and Harpenden. This competition was played as a round robin with every team playing five games of eight ends.
The outright winners were the team from Bush Hill Park comprising Linda Hawkins, Gerri Bignell, Mike Hargreaves and Darren Stanford. Second were the team from Cuffley and Northiam of Jeanette Gayler, Tony Gayler, Jeff Branch and Jan Rodgers. The following four places were all very close with several teams on four points and some with the same shot difference. The actual lower positions were then decided on games won. Many thanks go to our ‘Score Master’ Rebecca Stanford, without whom the day would not have run as smoothly as it did.
Going forward to the nationals on Saturday the 05th March 2022 at Solihull will be the winners only, as our understanding at the moment is that Hertfordshire’s allocation will be one place.
The next competition will be the County Fours played at Elm Court on Saturday the 11th of December.
