The forth national qualifier competition was held on Saturday at Elm Court. This was the fours competition. Seven teams took part with entrants from Bush Hill Park, Shillington, Letchworth, Greenwood, Northiam, St Margaret’s and Cuffley. This competition was played as a round robin with every team playing six games of seven ends.
The outright winners from Cuffley and Greenwood were Brian McGivern, Alan Spicer, Martin Nash and Darren Brown. Second were the team from Letchworth and Greenwood of Alan Hare, Margaret Hare, Dennis Mack and Bev Stevenson. Third place went to the Shillington team skipped by Trevor Knight, very closely followed by the mixed team from St Margaret’s and Northiam skipped by Tony Gayler. Many thanks go to our score masters of the day Margaret Regan and Alexis Mack, without whom the day would not have run as smoothly as it did.
Going forward to the nationals on Saturday the 09th April 2022 at Melton Mowbray will be the winners and possibly the runners up, we are waiting to hear from the ESMBA as to what Hertfordshire’s allocation for the four’s will be this season.
The next competition will be the County Triples played at Elm Court on Saturday the 08th of January 2022.
