This week we only had two games as two had to be postponed.

Mat one had Fairfield Falcons Bev, Gill A and Andrew playing Northiam South’s Dennis, Jeff and Brian. South started well with a double and followed this with a four, a single and a three for a 10 – 0 lead after four ends. Falcons swooped in on end five and took a single and followed that with a second. South came back and held a double on end seven. With the following two ends going for a single apiece South had a 13 – 3 lead after nine ends. End ten saw Falcons hold their forth single only to see South start another run of ends. Taking a single, two doubles and a four South had increased their lead to 22 – 4. The last end saw Falcons hold their fifth single but South had a reasonable win at 22 – 5.

Mat three and Northiam East’s Mike, Jan and Martin were playing Shillington Red’s Trevor, Michelle and Neil. East took the first end for a single. In a very close start to the game the following two ends were both declared tied ends. End four saw the Reds take the lead with a five. East replied and took the following end for a single, they then took the lead with a four. Reds then took a run of four singles for a 9 – 6 lead after ten ends. East came back for a single but end twelve saw Reds take a double to increase their lead to 11 – 7. East found some direction, held a four and it was all square at eleven all with two ends to play. The penultimate end saw East take the lead with a single. Following this with a second single East had the win at 13 – 11.

Well there you are folks a short report as there was only two games. Next week sees all twelve teams playing using all six mats so there will be no room for roll ups however there is always room for spectators should you want to come along and enjoy the atmosphere on the last evening before the Christmas Break.
