Tony Gayler, Margaret Regan and Jeanette Gayler started their qualifying campaign well with a convincing win.  They were drawn against two triples packed with international players but ran Gloucestershire 1 close, losing by just 2 shots.  The Hertfordshire triple finished third in their group.

Pauline Taylor, Brian McGivern and Darren Stanford were in a very closely contested group.  They drew their two opening games and won the third with the tightest of tight umpire measures on the final end, the result ensuring top spot in the qualifying group.
