Goffs Oak beat Cuffley comfortably (77-35) in the 19th annual Eric Morris Shield match at Cuffley Hall. The contest is held in memory of Gillian Morris's husband Eric, a founder member of the club.
When Cuffley Hall was founded (didn't know it was losted!) membership was exclusive to residents of Cuffley and Goffs Oak. Hence the inception of this local derby match. In recent years the catchment area has broadened and there are now a number of "guest" players that take part, mainly for Goffs Oak.
The rivalry has always been fierce but the results are a bit lopsided. Cuffley have their name on the Shield only once in the history of the event. But there is always a fine spread of sandwiches and cakes to enjoy for both sides.
