There were three matches played in the Barnet League last night with the Division 2 match between St Margaret's 2 and Cuffley Tonic being postponed.
All four top teams in Division 1 were in action. The leaders Greenwood Goshawks were unexpectedly beaten by an on=form and much improved fourth placed Northiam East. Northiam pulled ahead on end 4 and then ran away with the game. Despite dropping 5 shots on the last end, Northiam won 17 - 9. In an all-Letchworth match, second placed Letchworth Dragons lost to third placed Letchworth Lions. The Dragons got off to a great start leading by 8 shots to nil after only 5 ends. This forced the Lions to completely change their playing order. Plan B worked! With the Lions winning 8 of the remaining 10 ends and the game 13 -11. However despite the results the Division 1 leader board remains unchanged.
In the remaining second Division 2 match, Shillington White took the lead against Northiam West on end 4 and never looked back, winning by 11 shots to 8. This catapulted White up the table to second place but Cuffley Gin remain top of the Division with only 3 weeks left in the competition.
