Barnet League Week 18

There were five  Barnet League matches played at Hatfield last night. Two in Division 1 and three in Division 2 . All the results were decisive.

For most of the Division 1 game against Greenwood Hawks, Letchworth Dragons were evenly matched with the score 8 all after 11 ends. However, the Dragons then managed to take 7 shots from the last 4 ends to the Hawk single and ran out winners 15 - 9. In the other Division 1 match, St Margaret's 1 were leading Harpenden Night Owls by 10 shots to 6 after 10 ends but the Owls won all the of last 5 ends to win by the comfortable margin of  17 shots to 10. These results did not affect the team placings in the Division and Greenwood Goshawks remain top with Letchworth Dragons in second place.

All three matches in Division 2 were high scoring. Taking a maximum 6 on end 3, Shillington Black overwhelmed Northiam West in their re-arranged match by 33 shots to 4 . Both Cuffley teams were in action in the other 2 matches. In their match Cuffley Gin had a runaway victory against Harpenden Owls; only losing on 3 ends Gin won 23 - 5 to consolidate their first place in the table. Similarly Cuffley Tonic  only dropped 3 ends in outplaying  St Margaret's 2 and won by 23 shots to 6. This win moves Tonic into second place in the Division.
