Hertfordshire Short Mat Bowls Association held a very successful and enjoyable Charity Drawn 5s Gala at Jimmy Mac's in Hatfield on Saturday 17th August. 50 keen players from Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire took part in the day which raised a magnificent £480 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

In parallel with the main event there was a target competition along with a raffle and penalties for "hitting the block" or "going off the mat". The winners of the Drawn 5s were Alan Hare, Bill Gearing, Jeff Rix, Ted Nolan and Ken Murray. The "Target" competition resulted in a tie between Jeff Branch and Malcolm Warwick.

A very enjoyable and successful day was had by all and  thanks go to Margaret Regan for organising the event!
