In their Singles Competition Final at Northiam Short Mat Bowls Club, Brenda Martin excelled to push winner, Jeff Branch, to the final wood of the match. With the game a tie after the final end, Jeff, a regular County player,  said that Brenda had played consistently well throughout the preliminary rounds and that he had to dig deep in the extra end to win by just one shot with the very last wood!!
