Hertfordshire continues their winning start to the new ICC(A) season with a crushing 34 - 6 defeat of an under-strength London team in their return match at Elm Court yesterday.

Hertfordshire took the first session winning three of the four games. The singles were shared with Bill Gearing winning comfortably by 15 shots 6, while, Michael West went down 13 -9. Herts won both the Pairs games, with Audrey and Brian Fowler winning 11-8 and Dennis Mack & Jeannette Gayler winning 15 -12.

Herts also took the second session, again winning 3 of the four games. Taking a 6 on end 5, Adrienne West, Jill Quarterman and their skip, Brian McGivern won a high scoring match by 21 shots to 13, but the triple of Julia Bruce, Alan Spicer and, skip, Alan Hare were always trailing and lost 6 - 13.  Only dropping 2 shots and picking up a 6 and a 5, the Herts four of Jeff Branch, Toni Gearing, Jen Rogers and skip, Mary Chad, had a runaway 21- 2 win! Carol Still, Ted Nolan, Jan Waller and their skip, Tony Gayler had a much closer game but won by 13 shots to 9.

Again, Herts took  the honours in session 3, winning 3 of the 4 matches. In a reversal of fortunes Michael comprehensively won his game 21 - 8, while Bill was always behind in his game and lost by 8 shots to 18. Again Herts managed to win both the Pairs games; Audrey & Brian had a romp, only losing on 5 ends and winning by 21 shots to 5. Dennis and Jeannette also had a comfortable game winning easily 18 -11. Herts took all the singles and pairs bonus points.

There was a clean sweep in session 4 with Herts winning all four games. In the Triples Adrienne West, Jill Quarterman and Brian McGivern won easily by 14 shots to 6, while Julia Bruce, Alan Spicer and Alan Hare recovered their form and won 14 - 10.  Despite dropping a four on the first end, the four of Jeff Branch, Toni Gearing, Jan Rodgers and, skip, Mary Chad only dropped two further shots and  went on to win 14 - 6. With a 5-0 lead after only two ends, Carol Still, Ted Nolan, Jen Waller and their skip, Tony Gayler won by 13 shots to 8. Herts again took all the bonus points.
