As last week, there were two
1st and three 2nd division matches in the Barnet League
last night. We are starting to catch up with our postponed games but there will
be another catchup game next week, so only one mat will be available for rollups.
Division 1
St Margaret’s Rarebits played
Cuffley Tonic. Cuffley Tonic started well wining the first end by three and
taking end seven for a four and were 12 – 5 up. Then in a change of fortune, the
Rarebits took seven of the remaining eight ends. Rarebits winning 16 – 13.
Letchworth Dragons played
Northiam East in a catchup game from October. Dragons took the first end with East
taking the next three and at five ends it was five all. The next six ends were evenly
matched and at eleven ends it was nine all. East managed to take a four on end 13
in what was otherwise a closely matched game. East winning 15 -10
Division 2
Harpenden Nightjars played
Letchworth Tigers. Nightjars took three of the first four ends and where 6 – 1 in
the lead. On end 10 Tigers took a three to bring the score to Tigers 7 Nightjars
8. In the next five ends Tigers got 2 singles but Nightjars took a four and 2
two’s winning 16 – 9.
Shillington White played St
Margaret’s Wizards. Whites started with a three and took the next six ends
being 12 – 0 up after seven ends. Wizards took a single but then lost the next
two ends. Wizards won a couple more ends but did not really get going. Whites
winning 18 – 4.
Harpenden Owls played
Greenwood Hawks. Hawks took the first end, but Owls replied with a four and by
end seven Owls had a small lead 7 – 5. Hawks only managed to win one of the
following seven ends. Hawks finished by taking a four on the last end but unfortunately
this was not enough to catch up. Owls wining 18 – 10.
