Barnet League - Week 19

This week there were two 1st and one 2nd division matches in the Barnet League.  

Division 1

St Margaret’s Rarebits played Greenwood Peckers. Rarebits started well, winning the first four ends to take a 5 – 0 lead. Peckers then started a gentle comeback taking four of the next five ends, pulling the score back to Peckers 5 Rarebits 6. Rarebits then turned the tables on them and took four of the next five ends and with one end to go had increased their lead to 12 – 6. Peckers reduced the deficit, taking the last end for a single. Final score Rarebits 12 Peckers 7.

Cuffley Tonic played Northiam East. East took the first end. Tonic replied by taking the second end. East then took the third end for a five and also the next three ends. After six ends East had taken a commanding lead of 12 – 1. Tonic then took control, taking six of the next seven ends. At end thirteen they had pulled themselves back to a 13 all draw. East then dug deep and took the last two ends for a two and a single. Final Score East 16 Tonic 13.

Division 2

Letchworth Tigers Played Greenwood Hawks. Tigers won three of the first four ends to take a 5 – 1 lead. The following two ends went for one shot each. End seven was won by the Hawks to bring the score to Tigers 6 Hawks 4. Tigers then won the next three ends and started to pull away increasing their lead to 12 – 4. Hawks then won three of the next four ends bringing the score at end fourteen to Tigers 13 Hawks 9. Tigers then increased their lead by taking the last end for a four. Final score Tigers 17 Hawks 9.

If you are coming for a Roll Up, please be aware of the Mat availability.

DON’T come on March the 10th for a Roll Up, as all mats are being used for catchup games. However, you will be most welcome if you want to come and watch.

For the remaining weeks of the league, 17th March to 07th April there will only be one mat available for roll ups.

From the 14th April onwards, all mats will be available as the league will be finished.
