West took end three for a double, coming back for a further single Mars retained the lead at 5 – 2 after four ends. West then took a second double to be within one shot. With the following two ends going for a shot apiece Mars were retaining their one shot lead. End eight and West went into the lead for the first time in this game with a double. Letchworth Tigers Margaret, David M and Ivor played St Margaret’s Mercury’s Jeanette, Stephen and Darren. Tigers started this game taking the first end for a single, they followed this with a second single. In a game of tight heads they proceeded to take the following six ends for singles and were 8 – 0 up after eight ends. Mercury then got on the scorecard with a double, Tigers matched this but Mercury held a second double on end eleven, making Tigers lead 10 – 4. Tigers then reinforced their lead taking a triple on end twelve. With three ends to play Tigers had a 13 – 4 lead. Mercury then started a comeback by taking a single followed by a triple. Continuing their run they proceeded to take the last end for a double. However, Letchworth had their second win of the evening with the score of 13 – 10.

Letchworth Tigers win puts them top of the second division and they are now the only team in the league to have won every game. Next week sees Greenwood Hawks play Northiam East. With these two teams tied at the top of Division one we should then have a clear leader (or will we?). The two Shillington teams will be playing each other and the second division sees St Margaret’s Mercury playing again, this time against Harpenden Eagles. Watch this space next week for the results.
