HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY
SHORT MAT BOWLING ASSOCIATION
Cuffley Hall Short Mat Bowls Club was founded in February 1994. Players were originally drawn from Cuffley and Goffs Oak but in recent years the catchment area has spread much wider.
The club has four mats available for play on most Monday evenings and Wednesday afternoons when the format is an organised rollup with a touch of competitiveness thrown in. There are two trophy matches played each year: Cuffley versus Goffs Oak and Ladies versus Gents and there are annual Ladies Singles, Mens Singles and Drawn Pairs tournaments. In addition, Cuffley Hall enters teams in the county-wide Barnet League and has a consistent record of success in County Competitions (check out the club's Honours Board for more details).
The club has a flourishing social side with regular barbecues, quiz nights, cheese and wine evenings, a Summer Garden Party and a Christmas Dinner. There is even an annual short mat bowls holiday open to all club members.
