This week there were three 1st and one 2nd division matches in the Barnet League.
Division 1
Northiam East played Letchworth Dragons. Dragons started with a single, East immediately replied with a four. Dragons took two more ends then East replied with another four. Dragons then then took a further two ends. At end 9 it was ten all. Dragons took three more ends but East matched them also taking three more ends. The result being a draw, 15 all.
Cuffley Tonic played Cuffley Gin. Gin started with a single, Tonic replied with a single. Gin then took the third end for a four. Although Tonic did then take a single, Gin started to pull in front taking a four and several ones and twos. At end twelve Gin were in front 14 – 4, Tonic made a late comeback taking 2 twos, but it was too late to recover. Gin won 15 – 8.
St Margaret’s Rarebits played Letchworth Lions. Lions took the first two ends. The Wizards then slowly pulled ahead and by end eleven they were 10 – 3 up. Wizards then took a five. Lions immediately replied taking the next end for three. As with Tonic above, the damage had been done and Wizards finally won 16 – 6.
Division 2
Letchworth Tigers played Shillington White. White took the first two ends, Tigers replied taking the third end for a five. Whites fought back and by end nine the score was level at eleven all. Tigers then took a four followed by whites taking a single. The Tigers now 15 – 12 in the lead. The final four ends were hard fought with both teams taking 2 twos. Tigers got their revenge for last week winning 19 -16.
